On January 28, 2026, the group standard "Technical Specification for Valves for Molten Salt Applications" (T/CAMETA 001089-2025), administered by the China Association of Mechatronics Technology and Application, officially came into effect. This standard establishes, for the first time, systematic and clear specifications regarding technical requirements, test methods, and inspection rules for valves used in molten salt applications. It fills the gap in domestic technical standards for this field, providing the industry with an authoritative and unified normative basis.

As one of the core drafting units, Zhejiang Wanlong Machinery Co., Ltd., under the leadership of Group General Manager Xu Cheng, deeply participated in the entire process of drafting and finalizing this standard. This marks authoritative recognition at the national level for Wanlong's long-term technical expertise and industry contributions in the field of molten salt valves.

Why is this standard so significant ?
Molten salt (mixtures such as sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate), as a core heat transfer and storage medium in new energy fields like concentrated solar power (CSP) and energy storage, presents harsh characteristics including high temperature, strong corrosiveness, and easy solidification. This places extremely high demands on valve equipment. Previously, the lack of unified technical specifications for molten salt valves in China, to some extent, constrained the orderly development and technical collaboration within the industry.
The newly implemented "Technical Specification for Valves for Molten Salt Applications":
Defines the Scope of Application: It covers gate valves, globe valves, check valves, metal-seated butterfly valves, and control valves suitable for ternary or binary molten salt media, within the ranges of nominal pressure PN16 to PN160 and nominal size DN15 to DN500, as well as pressure class Class150 to Class900 and nominal size NPS1/2 to NPS20.
Establishes Technical Benchmarks: It specifies key indicators such as valve material selection, sealing performance, and corrosion resistance, providing technical assurance for the long-term safe and stable operation of valves under extreme working conditions.
Promotes Industrial Collaboration: It offers clear and unified guidance for various stages including valve design and selection, manufacturing, and quality inspection, helping to enhance the overall technical level and standardized development of the industrial chain.
The introduction of this specification effectively addresses the long-standing issue of lacking standards for valves used in domestic molten salt
conditions. It is expected to vigorously promote technological progress and collaborative development within the related industry.
Wanlong: Over Three Decades of Dedication,
Powering the New Energy Industry with Technology-Driven Solutions
Throughout its over 30-year development journey, Wanlong has consistently focused on deep cultivation in the valve manufacturing sector, with continuous technological innovation as its core driving force. Through long-term R&D investment, the company has achieved significant breakthroughs in areas such as material selection for high-temperature molten salt conditions, sealing structure design, and long-term reliable product operation, successfully overcoming numerous key technical challenges.
Its core products, including molten salt valves and bellows seal globe valves, have been widely applied in dozens of national major CSP projects, such as the Yumen Xinneng CSP Project, the Qinghai Supcon Delingha CSP Station, and the Luneng Qinghai Haixizhou CSP Project. Some products have effectively replaced imported brands, contributing to the high-quality development of the new energy industry with independently developed technologies.

Participating in the drafting of this national standard serves both as authoritative validation of Wanlong's technical strength and carries the responsibility of leading the industry. Wanlong looks forward to joining hands with industry peers to jointly advance the localization, standardization, and internationalization process of China's high-end valve industry.
